A Djabe a magyarországi zenekarok közül egyedülálló módon 4 éven belül már az ötödik lemezét jelenteti meg Angliában. Ezúttal nem Djabe & Steve Hackett névvel adja ki az albumot az egész világon ismert Cherry Red Records, hanem az előadó kizárólag a Djabe.
A fentiek nem jelentik azt, hogy Steve ne szerepelne az albumon, hiszen az album koncepciója és a címadó dal szövege Steve Hackettnek és feleségének köszönhető. A Hackett házaspárt és alkotó párost Égerházi Imre: Magyar mondák, legendák című festménye ihlette a The Magic Stag megírására. Barabás Tamás és Égerházi Attila teljes egyetértésben választották ki az albumban szereplő további festményeket, melyekhez az egyes szerzemények köthetők.
Az vinyl dupla albumon helyet kapott a CD verzió mind a 11 kompozíciója, melyből 9-nek a zenéjét Barabás Tamás szerezte, egyet pedig közösen Égerházi Attilával. A lemez záró darabja, az Uncertain Time pedig Égerházi szerzeménye. Az alkotók között ott találjuk Pély Barnát is, aki a másik énekes dal, a Down By The Lakeside szövegét jegyzi.
A Djabe ezzel nem elégedett meg, hiszen az LP változatra még elfért plusz kér felvétel. A 12-ik szám a Sári’s Dream az Uncertain Time folytatásának tekinthető stúdió felvétel, melyen Steve Hackett kapta a főszerepet. A 13-ik track pedig egy 2019-es Djabe & Steve Hackett koncertfelvétel a Budapest Jazz Clubból, Égerházi Attila lassan 30 éves Vágta című kompozíciója.
A Cherry Red Records beharangozójában kitér arra, hogy a Djabe napjainkban a világ egyik legkiválóbb progresszív/jazz/világzenei fúziós zenekara. Magyarországon kívüli ismertségük és elismertségük többek között a legendás Genesis-gitáros, Steve Hackett szereplésével létrejött közös albumoknak és koncerteknek is köszönhető.
A korábbi Djabe & Steve Hackett albumok gyakorlatának megfelelően a vinyl és egyéb analóg formátumok kiadási jogai a Gramy-H Kft-nél maradtak. Az angol kiadó a CD/DVD és további digitális formátumokat kezeli.
A zenekar tagjai Barabás Tamás (basszusgitár), Égerházi Attila (gitár, ütőhangszerek), Koós-Hutás Áron (szárnykürt, trombita), Nagy János (billentyűk) és Kaszás Péter (dobok, ének). Zenéjükre a progresszív rock, a jazz és a world music stílusok vannak a legnagyobb hatással, új albumuk inspirációjaként pedig, Attila édesapjának, Égerházi Imrének festményei szolgáltak.
Az ezredfordulóra Égerházi Imrét az Alföld egyik vezető mestereként tartották számon. Festészete és művészi szervezőtevékenysége, valamint az alkotói közösségek és alkotótársak iránti elkötelezettsége elismerést hozott számára Magyarországon és nemzetközi szinten egyaránt. Az ő munkája, az ő élete ihlette a The Magci Stag (Csodaszarvas)szövegét zenei világát valamint a teljes album zenei anyagát.
Steve Hackett nem csupán a címadó kompozíció szövegét írta feleségével, Jo Hackettel karöltve, de narrátorként, valamint 9 számában gitárosként is szerepel az albumon. A The Magic Stagtovábbi vendégszereplői között találjuk a Steve Hackett zenekarában játszó Rob Townsendet tenor szaxofonon, a tar legnagyobb géniuszának tartott Malik Mansurovot. Régebbi Djabe tagok, mint Muck Ferenc szaxofon és Karvaly Tibor hegedű szintén szerepet kaptak. A zenekar két éve dolgozik Szabó Lászlóval, aki gitáron és szitáron is közreműködik a Power Of Wings varázslatos hangulatába.
